Q1: What are the dimensions of the binocular? It looks like a compact, or is it a full size?
A: This is a full size binocular, being a roof prism style however it is more compact than a porro prism style which makes it a great binocular to take with you. The dimensions are approximately 5" X 4".
Q2: Are these the same binoculars as the Bushnell Scout 10x42?
A: Yes, this is the replacement version from when they discontinued the scouts.
Q3: What is the approx. difference in weight between the Bushnell 10x42 roof prism and the Bushnell 8x40 Natureview? I am looking for a good light pair of binoculars for birding.
A: The Bushnell 10x42 H2O binoculars are more than half a pound heavier than the 8x40 Natureview's. Weight figures are 27 ounces and 18.3 ounces, respectively.
Q4: I am trying to decide between 3 different models of Bushnell 10x42 roof prism binoculars. What are the major differences between the Natureview, Trophy, and H2O models? They seem to be so close in specs I am having trouble making a final choice.
A: The Natureview is the lightest of the three 10x42 roof-prism binoculars at 23 ounces. They're made to be comfortable when carried around birding all day by members of both sexes and all age groups. The trophy is the heaviest, coming in at 28 ounces. It's built for use while hunting in rough terrain. The H2O, meanwhile, is a general-purpose glass weighing about the same as the Natureview. Unlike the Natureview, however, the H2O is guaranteed to be fog-proof.
