Q1: what is the size of this binocular?
A: Approximately 4" x 4"
Q2: Are the steiner 8.5X26 Wildlife binoculars nitrogen filled. What is their waterproof rating. To what depth can they be submerged and for how long?
A: They are nitrogen purged and waterproff. they can be submerged up to 6 ft. though it is not recomended as the pressure the deeper you go can cause the rings to leak.
Q3: WHICH BRAND OF BINOCULARS IS THE BEST FOR BIRD WATCHING?
A: In 2005, the Cornell University Ornithology Lab tested more than 60 pairs of binoculars for birdwatching suitability. The winner in the top-price category was the 8x42 Zeiss FL T*, which edged out the 8x32 Swarovski EL WB. Leicas also came in 3rd, 4th, 6th and 9th. Binoculars in this "top gun" category cost more than $1,000. In the mid-price category ($200-$500), top spot was claimed by the Leupold Wind River Katmai 6x32, while second place went to the Nikon Monarch 8x42. Both Leupold and Nikon placed three binoculars among the top 10 in this category. Among economy models priced at less than $200, Nikon Action EX 7x35s took top honors, followed by Audubon Raptor 8x42s.
